I'm going to Mardi Gras for the first time this year and you seem like a vet! Any good tips?

YES! as some one lucky enough to learn MG from locals here are some tips:
-pee every time you have the opportunity because you may never see a bathroom again
-eat early and often (same reason as above + the potential to black out)
-develop a meeting spot for lost ppl in case phones don’t work
-wear comfortable shoes…. This year they’ll be rain boots
-buy extra large daiquiris
-sharpie your hotel address / room number on your arm… No seriously
-take pictures so you actually remember!!
-RAISE HELL! It’s a weekend where you can get away with almost anything…. Go for it.
